June 1, 2016 - A joint Scientific Meeting for Young Scientists between School of Pharmacy, Fudan University and iHuman Institute, ShanghaiTech University was held at School of Pharmacy, Fudan University. Professor Ming Wei Wang, Dean of School of Pharmacy, Fudan University, Prof. Raymond Stevens, Founding Director of iHuman Institute, Prof. Zhi-Jie Liu, Deputy Director of iHuman Institute, and ~20 scientists from the 2 institutions attended the meeting.
Prof. Ming Wei Wang introduced the overview of School of Pharmacy, Fudan University. He emphasized the importance of the meeting within the framework of the strategic collaborative relationship between Fudan and ShanghaiTech set forth in April, 2016, and hoped this meeting could be built as a routine mechanism for scientific exchange. Prof. Raymond Stevens made an introduction to iHuman’s vision and scope and the importance of life science collaborations within the local Shanghai scientific community. In the scientific reporting session, Profs. Guisheng Zhong, Suwen Zhao, Wenqing Shui, Houchao Tao from iHuman, Profs. Cong Li, Jun Chen, Lu Zhou and Drs. Yicheng Mao and Yu Liu from School of Pharmacy, Fudan presented their research interests, project progress and collaboration initiatives. Both teams had discussions on shared research interests and future collaboration opportunities which were already being initiated within days of the meeting.
