March 23, 2018 - At the Shanghai Science and Technology Award Conference held today, Professor Kurt Hermann Wüthrich, distinguished professor of ShanghaiTech University’s iHuman Institute, was presented the 2017 Shanghai International Science and Technology Cooperation Award.
March 18, 2018 - The Stein and Moore Award, named for Nobel laureates Dr. William Stein and Dr. Stanford Moore, venerates their contribution to understanding the connection between chemical structure and catalytic activity of the active center of the ribonuclease molecule. Established in 1986, the Stein and Moore Award is given to recognize eminent leaders in protein science who have made sustained high impact research contributions to the field.
February 1, 2018 - An international team of scientists led by the iHuman Institute at ShanghaiTech University published results showing the high-resolution atomic structure of the human serotonin receptor 2C (5-HT2C); an important G-protein-coupled receptor (GPCR) drug target for the treatment of schizophrenia and drug abuse, and recently was central to the development of the anti-obesity drug Belviq.

January 26, 2018 - The iHuman Institute held “iHuman Science Day” at Ren Building. Given the rapid and strong growth of the institute, the special Science Day was created to increase communication across the institute and showcase all its incredible scientific results.
January 8, 2018 - Dr. Guisheng Zhong, Principal Investigator and Research Associate Professor at iHuman Institute, has been promoted by ShanghaiTech University to Assistant Director of iHuman Institute in January 2018.
October 13, 2017 - In the early morning of Friday, the Nobel laureate Prof. Thomas Steitz visited iHuman, ShanghaiTech University, invited by Prof. Ming-Wei Wang, Dean of School of Pharmacy, Fudan University. Prof. Fei Xu of iHuman Institute hosted this visit.
September 16, 2017 - ShanghaiTech iHuman Institute Founding Director Dr. Raymond C. Stevens was awarded the 2017 Magnolia Silver Award.
July 6, 2017 - A paper entitled "Crystal structures of agonist-bound human cannabinoid receptor CB1", published online in Nature.
May 18, 2017 - A paper entitled "Structural basis for apelin control of the human apelin receptor" , is published in Structure.
May 17, 2017 - A paper entitled “Human GLP-1 receptor transmembrane domain structure in complex with allosteric modulators”, is published online in Nature.
May 17, 2017 - A paper titled “Crystal structure of a multi-domain human smoothened receptor in complex with a super stabilizing ligand”is published in Nature Communications.
January 9, 2017 - The Shanghai city government recently announced the 2016 Shanghai Top Ten Science & Technology stories. Included in the list is the structure of cannabinoid receptor 1 (CB1), also known as the “marijuana receptor” published in the prestigious international journal Cell in October, 2016.
December 13, 2016 - The iHuman Institute held its first annual "iHuman Science Day" in the new "Ren" building.
