Danaher Corporation ranked 144 out of 500 in the 2017 Fortune List. Danaher was one of the first companies in North America to adopt kaizen. The practice led to the development of the Danaher Business System (DBS) and continues to guide culture, at the heart of the company’s five core values. Fueled by Danaher's core values, the DBS engine drives the company through a never-ending cycle of change and improvement: exceptional PEOPLE develop outstanding PLANS and execute them using world-class tools to construct sustainable PROCESSES, resulting in superior PERFORMANCE. During the discussion, Mr. Rales answered questions and provided advice to the students. He said that student leadership must be based on something that you value in your heart and something that you will never break; these will help you to make the appropriate decisions. When a student asked how to keep a leadership position in a fast changing world, he said the one must be proactive, and in order to achieve that goal, the one must have a vision, and again it returns to the concept of the valuable thing you never break He told the iHSLB members that the magic way to make a person take responsibility in a team is to let that person engage in the task. Mr. Rales also mentioned his experience as a voice actor in the movie Mr. Fox and talked about the hit movie La La Land.

iHSLB members benefited a lot from the discussion. The iHSLB members not only received an in-depth understanding  of Danaher's DBS business model, but also were inspired by his way of exploration business thinking. Mr. Rales’ valuable experience inspired the members of iHSLB. He is an excellent enterprise leader model with many specialties for students and the iHSLB members' leadership training benefited greatly from his visit.
