Professor Andrej Sali, professor of the University of California San Francisco and adjunct professor of iHuman Institute, is elected as the member of National Academy of Sciences on May 1st, 2018.
Professor Andrej Sali has been collaborating with iHuman Institute and was appointed as the adjunct professor of ShanghaiTech in 2017. Professor Sali is one of the leading experts in integrative structural biology. His researches have been focusing on the discovery of general structural principles that underlie the cellular processes, through maximizing the accuracy, precision, completeness, and efficiency of the structural coverage of proteins and their assemblies. This goal is being achieved by the integration of different types of experimental data, physical theories, and statistical inference, spanning all relevant size and time scales.
The Sali group has achieved outstanding discoveries of the Nuclear Pore Complex and published high-level articles on journals including Nature.
