A delegation led by Temasek Holdings Executive Director and CEO Ms. Ho Ching visited ShanghaiTech and met with President Mianheng Jiang on April 10th. President Jiang extended a warm welcome to Ms. Ho Ching and the Temasek delegates. Provost and Vice President Jie Yin introduced ShanghaiTech’s development and Wu Yibing, Joint Head (China) of Temasket International, introduced the company.
Ms. Ho discussed with ShanghaiTech’s research directions, faculty team and funding mechanisms with President Jiang. She said she was very much impressed by what ShanghaiTech has achieved in the past five years and would be happy to see future cooperation with ShanghaiTech in areas such as tech-transfer.
Together with President Jiang, Ms. Ho toured the campus and visited schools and research institutes, including the VR Lab in the School of Information Science and Technology, EM in the School of Physical Science and Technology, iHuman Institute and its MS facilities.
Professor Zhi-Jie Liu, executive director of the iHuman Institute, introduced the concept, goals and research achievements of the iHuman Institute in the atrium of the Ren building. After the introduction, Professor Zhi-Jie Liu accompanied a visit to the mass spectrometry platform of the iHuman Institute. Professor Wenqing Shui introduced the iHuman Institute's infrastructure and scientific research in the field of mass spectrometry for Ms. Ho.
Ms. Ho obtained her Master of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from Stanford University and has been listed several times by prestigious business magazines as one of the most influential women in the world.
